How To Track Time Limited Pools

There is a way to track pools where there are awards based on points gained over a sub-period of the season (mini-seasons). For example if your pool awards points for the team that scored the most during a 4 week period.

There are a few ways to do this.

If your mini-seasons are aligned with calendar months, then you can use the "Number Of Points Gained in the Last 10, 20 & 30 Days & This and Last Month" chart to look at the points each player gained last month and is gaining this month.

If your mini-seasons are aligned with calendar weeks, then you can use the "Cumulative Total Points This Week" chart to look at the points gained Sunday to Sunday each week.

If your mini-seasons are not aligned with calendar months or weeks, then it is a bit more work for you, but it can be done. For example, you award points to the team that wins the segment of the season between Oct. 15 and Nov. 15, then between Nov. 15 and Dec. 15, etc).

You can use the Edit & Trade Players link from the Administration page to change the start and end dates for each team in the pool, then view the Daily Stats Page to see who won for that time period. Change the start and end date of the ALL players using the link at the top of the Edit & Trade Players page that looks like:

(Of course pressing the Change button above will not do anything because this is just a demo ...)

NOTE: What you are doing in effect is TRADING players to or from the team on the dates you specify. Trades occur on the MORNING of the date you specify, before any games have been played. So if the START DATE is October 15, the player's stats will include games played on October 15th and later. If the player's END DATE is November 15th, the player's stats will include games played up to November 14th, his stats will not include games played on the 15th.

Once you have changed the start and end dates of all the players, go to the Daily Stats Page and the teams will be limited to those dates. Once you've recorded the victor, (you can use the Snapshot feature from the Admin page to do this) return to the Edit & Trade Players link and reset the start and end dates to the next mini-season.
